How to compress a PDF for email without wrecking the pages
Shrink a scan, export, or slide deck until it actually sends — and keep the original when “smaller” would look worse.

Most email servers still choke around 10–25 MB. The usual “compress” websites flatten every page to a JPEG, which is why a born-digital contract comes back looking like a fax. The right move depends on what the file actually is.
Text files vs scans
If you can highlight a word, you have a text layer. Do not flatten that file unless you are willing to lose search and copy. If you cannot select text, it is a scan — flattening is then the tool, not a compromise.
Pick a quality like an envelope

Do the other work first
