What converts well
Reports, letters, and anything with a real text layer convert cleanly enough to edit. Scans convert to empty pages unless you extract text with OCR first.
Columns, footnotes, and text-on-images are imperfect. If you need a visual twin, export pages as images instead.
Conversion never leaves this device. That is the difference versus the usual “free PDF to Word” upload mill.
Questions
- Will my fonts and layout survive?
- Fonts are mapped to the Word defaults. Complex layout is flattened to paragraphs. Treat the result as an editable draft.
- What about scanned PDFs?
- Run Extract Text with AI OCR, then paste, or start from a text PDF.
