How detection works
PDF Boost AI groups glyphs by vertical position, then splits a line into cells by horizontal gaps. It is a heuristic, not a full table-structure model — which is why it can run entirely offline.
If you get one giant column, the PDF likely has a scan or a weird encoding. Try Extract Text and split it yourself, or Summarize for a read instead of a sheet.
